Battery Cables

Im going to replace the starter and solenoid.  I was trying to think how the cables run from the battery.  The cable that goes from the solenoid into the cabin looks ratty so I was think of replacing all the positive big cable between battery and starter.  The skytec starter says it needs a longer than stock cable between the starter and solenoid anyway.

So does the positive cable go battery -> master switch bus bar -> solnoid -> starter?  Theres only one positive coming off the battery and I thought it would go straight to the solinoid but the master bus needs power somehow...  

Anyway Im not near the plane and I couldnt find it in the service manual.

And does anybody happen to know what length cable from solinoid to a skytec 149-NL?

My starter solenoid is sitting on the pilots footwell

Battery -> Master Solenoid -> Starter Solenoid -> Starter.   There is also the Aux power solenoid that sits on top of the battery box.  All big cables

 

Not sure where the feed for the CB panel is.  Probably a medium side cable.

Your POH should have the basic wiring diagram that should include all the bits and pieces...

Older pohs probably lack the detail for size and length.

Do a voltage drop test on your old cables. I thought of doing the same until I saw how complicated it was. I simply degreased them and protected the terminals. Installed the 149NL and works 100% fine.
