Bendix King KAP 140. Factory installed in 1999.  Only the roll servo had previous maintenance in the last 19 years.

Please, need your help:

After Amplifier Servo exchange my vintage Pathfinder P2A autopilot is "back" again, but

I do not know how to set "Zero" , "Neg Threshold", Pos Threshold" values in Servo Amplifier.

None single setting is working correctly. Unable to find any manual concerning Amplifier servo setup.

Thanks in advance,

lg,m.

It seems difficult to get a significant price reduction bc of which autopilot it has. As mentioned already, if all other things equal, you’re not going to see a $10,000 delta bc one has a Britain and one has an STec. This was one downfall in my J purchase. It had a C2B but likely wouldn’t have been priced much higher if it had an STEC.

Tha said, if you can find a “good deal on an otherwise solid bird” that reflects the lacking autopilot, plan for $20,000 ish on a GFC500 upgrade.

or

find one with an STEC ready to go. Probably the cheapest option but potentially requires much longer search.

Best to keep in mind, it’s only airplane money. It’s not real. B)

edit: I am not familiar with the capabilities of anything other than my 2 experiences with a C2B and GFC 500 so, replace STEC with “capable autopilot”. It has been a game changer for me on cross country.
