Control Saver Control Lock PIREP?

Does anyone have a PIREP on this product? Looks elegantly simple if it works. I’m using bungee cords to do the same thing now, but would like to get away from the side forces on the control columns.

Save $35 and just go with something like this https://www.amazon.com/MyTrip-Single-Suitcase-Travel-Luggage/dp/B01A4RLR32/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1541377434&sr=8-18&keywords=red+strap

or only save $28, but get a spare..https://www.amazon.com/PowerTye-Heavy-Duty-Lashing-Buckle-2-Pack/dp/B0756Q63MJ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1541377634&sr=8-3&keywords=red+tie+down+strap

I ordered this from aircraft spruce and I could not get it to work.  I ended up getting the gust locks from Airgizmos http://airgizmos.3dcartstores.com/AirGizmos-Gust-Locks_p_35.html. Quite more expensive but works great.

That is what I use as well, I have two, one or the ailerons and one for the elevator.

Thanks KP, I was thinking that way but like the elevator lock function of the high priced option. How do you manage that part?

Cheers,

Rick

Looks like they use a snap or an eyelet  and a small bracket to hook it to depending on the make/model.  I guess it depends on how far down the CB rabbit hole you want to climb.  But I think it would be pretty easy to replicate.  If you use the 2 strap option from my above links you could loop one between your rudder pedals and yoke.

I'm a bit of a heretic and not in the CB Club <gasp> so will take a look at the Airgizmos option as well. Thanks for the info.

Rick, we've had a thread or 3 on this topic. Frankly, with our push pull rods and relatively stiff controls I am not very concerned about gust locks. ISTM we might be stressing the yokes and linkage more than we're helping. If I'm parked outside and there's really high winds forecast and I couldn't get in a hangar to avoid wayward Cessnas I might use a seat belt over the yoke...

Now if we had cables and pulleys...

Thanks @Bob_Belville Bob, my "mad search skills" failed me the other day and I didn't come up with what I was looking for. Your point is on the mark though - I should determine whether there is a problem to which I need a solution, or if I found a solution to a problem that I don't have.

Cheers,
Rick
