Txbyker Posted October 31, 2018 Report Posted October 31, 2018 I want to replace my front floor mat due to stains and fraying stitching. My mat is one piece and doesn't fit well. I think there are supposed to be two, a pilot and co-pilot but this is what came with the plane. Does anyone have a good source for factory grade mats? Russ Quote
carusoam Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 There is a premium interior supplier a few MSers have used... Called SCS interiors? @SCSinteriors See if they can help you with that... Best regards, -a- 2 Quote
LANCECASPER Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 Hector at AeroComfort in San Antonio also does carpeting and floor mats. Here's a price list from 4 years ago, so expect that prices have gone up. Aero Comfort PriceList (1-2-14).pdf 2 Quote
75_M20F Posted November 1, 2018 Report Posted November 1, 2018 I have the vinyl ones from SCS, they are fantastic... and no more stained / nasty carpets either! Quote
CaptRJM Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 +1 foe Aero Comfort. Hector and his staff do first grade work! Quote
Lance Link Posted November 3, 2018 Report Posted November 3, 2018 I just got some from Plane Plastics. They are just fine. 1 Quote
SCSinteriors Posted December 17, 2018 Report Posted December 17, 2018 Hi Txbyker - have you gotten your mats replaced yet? We don't currently have a M20R mat pattern (we do have the full carpet kit) - but we could work with you to get yours replaced and modify the fit to suit your needs. You can contact us at 218-728-1614 or email Carissa at cdavis@scs-interiors.com. You can choose vinyl, featherweight, nylon or wool. We send out free samples of the material to ensure you like it before you buy! Best, Kayla Quote
StevenL757 Posted December 22, 2018 Report Posted December 22, 2018 @Txbyker Russ, does Brian have any leads for the mats? Quote
LANCECASPER Posted December 22, 2018 Report Posted December 22, 2018 I'm tellin ya. . . Aero Comforts Floor Mats are better than factory grade and here were the prices in '14. I doubt they've gone up much since. 1 Quote

I didn’t ask but I see Lance’s @LANCECASPER post about Aero Comfort. I had no idea even though they had done my M20J years ago, guess I am getting forgetful. Russ Quote
aviatoreb Posted December 23, 2018 Report Posted December 23, 2018 I used SCS interiors to do not only the rugs but upholstery about 2 years ago. Full leather, custom reshaping of the seats, perforated, etc, AND the entire rugs set. The prices were excellent and the job was superb. Quote
Mooney_Allegro Posted December 24, 2018 Report Posted December 24, 2018 I've used Hector, at Aero Comfort for years. He set me up with a baggage carpet insert, front floor and rear mats with all the fire retardant materials and FAA paperwork to go along with it. The front carpets have a nice Mooney emblem as an option. I just text him and tell him what I want, and he texts me back with a link to PayPal to pay for the mats and shipping. It's super easy. Great product. I've met him in San Antonio, and he's very nice & professional. A pleasure to do business with. 2 Quote
mkrakoff Posted November 30, 2020 Report Posted November 30, 2020 Reviving an old thread, but does anyone have a source for all-weather mats? Not a huge fan of carpet as a floor mat. I find they tend to slide around and bunch up by the rudder pedals. I have these in my car and absolutely love them https://evannex.com/products/tesla-model-s-all-weather-floor-mats. They are trimmable and I'm tempted to buy the trunk mat and cut it to fit. The flammability issue is there and I don't have the data sheet. Anyone know if something like this exists in the aviation world? Quote
carusoam Posted December 3, 2020 Report Posted December 3, 2020 Want to go on an interesting hunt? https://www.weathertech.com/floor-mats/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAk53-BRD0ARIsAJuNhpv_vWuOzLbexJebJuT_NkULiFBAGIvn4MEgUXV_-w09E4KW5MBe6_oaAgOmEALw_wcB They do everything from laser measuring, design, mold making, and production... here in the US of A.... The mold making may be the expensive part... but who would know until somebody asks..? Best regards, -a- 1 Quote

N201MKTurbo Posted December 3, 2020 Report Posted December 3, 2020 (edited) I was just in a meeting the other day with the company that makes that material. They are hoping to automate some of their production equipment while business is down due to COVID. Most of that material finds it way into Boeings and they aren't ordering much these days. These are the guys that make the aircraft vinyl floor material: https://www.schneller.com/ Edited December 3, 2020 by N201MKTurbo Quote
tmo Posted December 3, 2020 Report Posted December 3, 2020 The WeatherTech stuff Anthony mentioned is great - we had it in the back of a Ford Explorer we used to haul all kinds of weird liquids and it never failed us. 1 Quote
Nick Pilotte Posted December 3, 2020 Report Posted December 3, 2020 So, David MacNeil of Weathertech, he’s both a car junkie as well as aviation..... if anybody would be the one to ask, his company could probably do it (they make dog bowls now). And he’s practically @exM20K’s neighbor. Quote
exM20K Posted December 3, 2020 Report Posted December 3, 2020 Love Weather Tech in the car. Terrible idea in the plane. I think i've mentioned this before: had pep-boys type floor mats in the front footwells of the 231. Main line from battery to starter chafed through. Molten insulation and wire fell onto the floor mat and started smoldering. Killed the master and my PAX stamped out the floor mat. I'll never put carpet or upholstery into a plane w/o burn certificate. Few things scare me as much as in-flight fire. -dan 3 1 Quote
