Interesting paper/video of an experiment that had a 2.1 lb. DJI drone impact an M20 wing at 238 MPH.

It gives a dramatic demonstration of what could happen, but seems unlikely in real world ops given their respective profiles.

Regardless, they claim significant damage to the spar after penetration.

I guess the good news in a situation similar to this is that the Feds will have the serial number of the drone since it's implanted within the wing.
