Flyingfisher
Hi guys, I searched and while I can find many references to adjusting my voltage regulator, I haven't found any instructions to do so. Pictured is my voltage regulator, an Electrodelta vr415f out of my 74 F model. I see two pots for adjustment but am not sure which does which. Hoping someone more knowledgeable can fill me in. orionflt
The VR415 regulator is not meant to be adjusted in the field, it is a solid state regulator. the only adjustment info you will find in the manuals covers the older regulators. Flyingfisher
Thanks guys, ended up just rewiring the field wire and using contact cleaner on everything and she's good as new for now.
markejackson02
I have a 1977 J (actually a 1976) which has a VR415F. Is there any way to adjust this that doesn't involve running the airplane full blast while I hang upside down under the panel?

I removed the right seat for easier access. Tied down/chocked, started plane, voltmeter on buss, 13.5 volts @ 2000 RPM. Adjusted to 14.2 volts @ 2000 RPM and 14.3 @ full throttle. It solved my strobe issue, my radio issue, and my battery issue.
