flyboy0681
Yesterday I noticed that the right side gap filler between the empennage and fuselage was missing and have no idea how long it's been that way. Was this an aftermarket speed mod or did it come out of the factory with it installed? Also, where can I order it from and what kind of effort is required to install it? The left side clearly still has it attached.
FoxMike
The missing piece is a rubber strip. A Mooney shop could get some for you. Might be a little hassle to install it but any A&P could do it.
jetdriven
LASAR sells it. It’s called U-channel Edited August 13, 2018 by jetdriven
Andy95W
https://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/appages/uchannel.php?clickkey=43585 I'd get the 05-01600, looks like its $1.42 per foot. You could replace both sides so you wouldn't have to try to paint it to match. Use 3M super weatherstrip adhesive (from an auto parts store) to glue it on. jetdriven
I bought the 05-02200 and its similar but doesn’t work. 1/16” panel thickness it doesn’t grab the metal right. That metal is .032”. Call Lasar. I couldn’t find it anywhere else.
Andy95W
Forget what I said- probably best just to call LASAR!
flyboy0681
I knew I came to the right place for an answer. I'll give Lasar a call today, assuming business is back to normal.
