cowl mod stc , and oil cooler question

Recommended Posts

My m20a with the guppy mouth, got a new cowl with the laser kit to make it smaller opening,

so how would one get the paperwork  (STC  I guess)?  another question the oil cooler on the new cowl has a back plate about

2 inches back of the fins, same size as the oil cooler,  my m20a has no plate, what does it do? should I add it on the my present oil cooler.

Just call LASAR, explain the situation, and they will sell you the STC only, no parts.  Have your A&P/IA file the paperwork.  Not sure how this works in the great white north.

Yes, I would use the plate behind the oil cooler.

this Service Letter SBM20-83 affects the oil cooler deflector sheet.

Its not a waste of time to review the support data provided by Mooney from time to time.
