Oldguy
One of the guys out at my airport (Pell City, AL - KPLR) had a small incursion yesterday when someone backed into his plane, and he is now in need of a left aileron for his 252. Part number would be 230015-505 LH. He puts about 500 hours per year on his plane as he uses it in his business. Any help would be greatly appreciated. KSMooniac
Finding good used ailerons is nearly impossible. If he's flying that much he should just get a new one from the factory and ring up the offender's insurance agent.Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk

KSMooniac
Well, that slightly complicates things! I suspect the price of a new one will warrant an insurance claim...or he can sit AOG for a long time looking for a used one at a cheaper but still expensive cost.Sent from my LG-US996 using Tapatalk
Mooneymite
Can ailerons be re-skined like flaps can be?
kortopates
Can ailerons be re-skined like flaps can be? They have been for things like hail damage, but I suspect if both sides are damaged new is the better option. At least he may not need new control weights too!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Oldguy
So far, two have been located - Mooney can get one in about 4 weeks and Paul Loewen has one and will call Monday to discuss getting it here.
