heck you could build one awesome panel.  You would never get lost always have communications and have a level of redundancy that could not be topped but I'd hate to pay for the Jepp subscription. :D

Look at all that NAV equipment.  Someone should install ALL of it and see if they can still get lost.

Alan,

does the GMX-200 connect to a GTN-650 for map or GTX 345 for traffic?

scott

I just upgraded mine with exactly that configuration and everything works well.  Map and flight plan come from the GTN 650.  ADS-B traffic, weather,... come from the GTX 345.  Note:  the GMX200 uses the rs-422 communication from the GTX 345 (only one 422 output and the Aspen 1000 also needs this in a different format so I had to pick GMX200 or Aspen for my traffic).

Hmm, maybe it depends. Your avionics shop should know for sure.

The RS 422 data line can parallel multiple connections. It is an output only so it may depend on the input configuration of the receiving equipment. There was an issue with GTX 345 to Aspen display because of the HIGH speed configuration used by Aspen.

I don't know about the GMX200 but I suspect it would require a LO speed (damn those legacy old obsolete Aspen boxes using the HIGH speed bus.:), makes it tough on old Garmin stuff) anyway, the weather transfers on the RS 422 line not the traffic, it comes over on the ARINC 429 line so you should be able to at least get the traffic on both.
