I had planned to build one in retirement but my wife was not keen on flying in a home built and she said “I would rather that you get a ‘store bought’ airplane”. So I got a Citabria instead. It’s a 1995 7GCBC and is a hoot to fly, though it only cruises at 97 kts. Obviously we are keeping the Mooney as the traveling airplane and the Citabria as the ‘play’ airplane.
