What is your price range and where are you located?  I know of one that may be for sale in Georgia.....

$30-40K budget. Maybe $50K if it had nice avionics. I’m in Georgia.

You might consider upping your budget if you dont want a project.

Yeah, what @mike_elliott said. This looks like a budget for an M20C. 

If you don't spend at least $65K to purchase an E, it will likely cost you way more than that. 

The only exception would be an E that was perfect in every way with a WAAS GPS and modern autopilot, but with a runout engine. At $40K you'd be about right. But you'll never find that one.
