Texas 2018 Fly in - Saturday, April 14 Dallas Executive

Thanks @DonMuncy for an excellent fly-in. I'm really glad I got to make it this time. The winds were sporty but not more than 20 degrees off the runway at either end of our trip up from Smithville.

It was so nice to meet everyone. There were new friends and old friends. And some who I met for the first time @chrisk, @MBDiagMan, @Yetti, and @KSMooniac are actually old friends from all the long conversations here on MooneySpace.

This should definitively be a regular thing... and maybe more than once a year.

And a big thanks to Don Maxwell for sponsoring the lunch and Carl Sharon for also sponsoring the event. Carl has fixed a leaky tank of mine and Don... well Don's the Oracle of all things Mooney.

Thanks again... had a great time.

What we lacked in numbers, we made up for in quality. We had 16 and 1/2 people (Scott McCray brought his adorable daughter Audrey), and 5 Mooneys (1 taxi-in, and 4 fly-in). I didn't count gsxrpilot's wife who visited with family in the area to avoid the boring airplane talk.

I seem to have a knack for attracting weather. The wind was howling, it was a very un-Texas like chilly, and sometimes ceilings that looked like 600 feet.

Everyone seemed to have a good time, got well fed and Chrisk won the door-prize.

Great event and thanks to Don for hosting and all for allowing a Tiger driver, (who also happens to be a wanna be Mooney owner) to  yesterday . Also a special shout out to Don for hosting and Don M/Carl S for sponsoring.  As a newcoming, what I was most taking back with was the great camaraderie and sense of family within the entire group. Also, special thanks to Scott and Paul for the great Mooney purchasing insights you shared and Don for the “tug demo” at his hanger!   If anyone comes across really clean E, F or J with a relatively modern panel, please keep me in mind.  Jeff

Good to meet you all- and thanks to tolerating a toddler.  She didn’t do half bad- except when we brought her in from the flight line- she cried wanting to stay out with the airplanes even though it was cold and windy. I’m raising her right...
