carusoam Posted February 19, 2018 Report Posted February 19, 2018 Good catch, RL! Were you able to smell fuel during flight or on the ground at all? Best regards, -a- Quote
clearedhot Posted February 19, 2018 Report Posted February 19, 2018 What model Mooney is your airplane? Could you see the blue staining on the fuel manifold valve through the oil door opening? I assume your first photo was taken with the engine de-cowled. Thanks much for the information. Quote
glenn reynolds Posted February 19, 2018 Report Posted February 19, 2018 nice photo and description. I had a fuel return line come loose a couple months ago and it sure makes you uncomfortable!! thanks for posting Quote

The b-nut for the cap had been marked with indicator paste. Ick. Kind of makes me question the usefulness of anti-tamper lacquer. Obviously, if the lacquer mark is not broken, that suggests it was loose on the original installation Quote

Noticed the blue staining through the oil access door; first photo was taken through the oil access door (with cowl still on). In your first picture it looks like the hose clamp on the induction tube coupling is loose. Acetone on a Q tip will dissolve the fuel dye. Clarence Edited February 20, 2018 by M20Doc Quote
