Recommended Posts

We are looking to share the new expansion to the entire Mooney Community.  What are you looking for?  What are you interested in doing in the near future?  Please give us an opportunity to earn your work and make a good difference not only with your aircraft, but throughout the community as well.  We can accommodate your needs from an annual to a full avionics stack upgrade.  We are running several different specials and are booking installations for the upcoming ADS-B mandate that is right around the corner in 2020.  Give us a shot, you will NOT be disappointed!!!  Shoot me an email, text or call me if you have any questions and to schedule your visit.

Greg, I really enjoy all the enthusiasm you and the new owners are showing at Laser. One area that would be nice to specialize in is AP installation. Picking one system like TruTrak and being able to quickly install it while having the plane stripped for an annual would be nice.  People around here are also excited about the Dynon system so becoming a certified dealer for them might be nice on the west coast.

Keep up the good work, wished I lived closer to utilize your shop!

Welcome aboard, Greg.

Lasar has always been an MS go to place for all things Mooney parts related, World wide...

It will be interesting to see what you can pull together for the Mooney community for the instrument panel options.

  • adsb/2020
  • Existing wing leveler/heading bug updates
  • new to the industry autopilots
  • new to the industry avionics
  • Engine monitors (new and used)
  • AOA indicators
  • new panels based on existing Lasar work in the past.  Including paint and hardware

This is from the list of things I have seen in threads around MS....

It is nice to have the Lasar people check in with their expertise.

Best regards,

Since my wife shut down the dual Aspens, I went to lasar for their pre-cut 8 pack panel. I think you make a really good point that having Avionics and pre-cut panels all together at one spot would make a lot of sense. Or, by the avionics from them, and they'll do the layout and custom cut the panel for you too.

Greg,

We bought our airplane from LASAR.  While I like you guys, you really have the deck stacked against you because of the cost.  Since you are a bit over 3 hours away, it would cost around $500 just to get the plane to you and back.  And California is an expensive state to do just about anything.  High prices, high taxes, high labor costs.

I think what drives most us are three factors: cost, quality, and convenience.

Most of us will pay a small premium to have quality work done, but not a large premium.

As for convenience, that is mostly a matter of location.  If I fly the plane to California and it will take a week or two to have the work done I either need to find my way home and back again or pay for a lot of hotels.  If I can find a place that will do the work and is relatively close, my partners and I can arrange to have one of us fly and one of us drive.  And then there is the cost and convenience of fixing something that wasn't done right in the first place.  I get home and find something wasn't adjusted right or just plain doesn't work at all, that would be another $500 for the round trip to have you fix it.

Now if you could get things done right the first time, done quickly, and with a guarantee,  that might make the difference.  For example, an autopilot install in 2 or 3 days instead of 2 or 3 weeks.  Or an ADS-B or G5 or Aspen install in one day.  And a guarantee that you pay the cost of correcting anything that was done incorrectly.  Either the cost of bringing the plane back to you or having someone else do the repairs at your option.

I wish you the best of luck though.  LASAR is an asset to all Mooney owners.
