cliffy Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 My friends in the Mooney world down under have a rather nice Mooney organization and they put out a printed Pilot Safety Program and hold seminars around the continent to further Mooney knowledge and safety. Its a great group of dedicated Mooney owners. They are currently putting together their rewrite of their Safety and Instruction manual and are in need of a good TN instructor to look over what they have for power settings, etc. They have some gaps in their knowledge base as there are not too many TNs down there. Is there any good TN instructor that would be willing to contact me and work with me to help them out? They are not asking for you to write the manual. They have done that. They just need a second set of eyes and a few numbers. I am not TN qualified by any means :-) I have been working with these guys for a couple of years and they are great folks. They really try to do things right but being separated from Kerrrville by half of the world gives them limitations. I am reviewing the rest of their manual and really need the TN help. I could make the bribe as showing your picture and intro to them the next time I'm there doing seminars. Make you "famous" down under! :-) How's that?
carusoam Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 We have a core group of TN knowledgeable folks around here... When looking up TC'd topics, I search for @jlunseth first. See If JL has some ideas. Best regards, -a-
jlunseth Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 What I think you should do, or have your friends do, is contact one of the Mooney PPP instructors. By “TN” I think you mean the Acclaims, and I don’t know the Acclaims very well. However, the PPP guys have a written manual with power settings for each of the models. I don’t always find the settings to be perfect, but they are a good place to start. I am looking at their book, the most recent one I have is from 2015, and they have setting up through the Bravo and the Ovation. Perhaps by now they have something for the Acclaims. I would try Ralph Semb, Jerry Johnson, Parvez Dara, or John Pallante. You can find contact information for them in the Mooney Flyer, www.mooneyflyer.com I think. Or at the Mooney Safety Foundation website. www.mapasafety.com . I don’t think any of them fly an Acclaim as their personal aircraft. Jack Pallante is the closest with a 231. But they have taught pilots in virtually every Mooney model there is. Jerry Johnson is a jet jockey, flies corporate, or used to. You could also try Bruce Jaeger, he no longer teaches with them but used to own Willmar Air Service and knows something about the Acclaims. 1
carusoam Posted February 16, 2018 Report Posted February 16, 2018 We also have an MSer that was an APS guy. He was stationed in Australia, I believe... If I could only remember his name...? Best regards, -a-

Try Jerrys son Mark, president of the foundation young, instructor of T38 I think flew F16s etc in the service, also very good instructor and personality
