Just a lot of manual resetting, I would imagine. Ah ok, thanks, the bezel looked like it came from the HSI version.

Niko182
IMO i'd say hard pass on this one. there are a lot of J's that are nicer than this one for 85K. just alone looking at the panel, it seems like everything based around this aircraft had the term budget, or affordable, when making a decision. Exterior looks nice, but that panel looks far from nice. No HSI, ADSB, No GPS, No waas. all things you'll possibly need, and definetely want within the next decade. Also remember that i believe the 87 to 91 J's had the worst useful load of the bunch unless this had a serial number upgrade to the 2900 LBS upgrade. You'd be lucky to have a useful load above 925lbs. I'm by no means saying this is a bad plane, but at 85K I would say it is pretty overpriced. Looking at what is available on controller, I would think this should be marketed somewhere in between 65 and 75K. There were 2 J's that stuck out on controller to me within the 85 to 90K budget range. Just taking a quick look at these, one has a Nice ( and flashy) paint job, mid time engine, Okay panel, with a really really nice transponder with ADS-B, live traffic and onscreen weather and an HSI. The Other has a newly overhauled engine and prop (possibly due to prop strike but IDK) A decent paint job, and a WAAS GPS NAV COM. Just my 2 worthless cents.https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/27492897/1982-mooney-m20j-201https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/21178595/1978-mooney-m20j-

Below that (or above that), I'd say you get less value for your money for the average buyer. It certainly costs less to have stuff like ADS-B and GPS installed by the previous buyer than to install it yourself.
BushPilot
I am also in the market. Hopefully closing on the 1982 J MooneyBob posted. I have been scouring the internet to make sure I buy the right bird. There is slim pickings right now. The yellow bird on controller has a low useful load also. Most of the 1982s I've seen are near 900lbs give or take 15. Also the 1978 J is a fully rebuilt salvaged bird with a K wing and a local Overhaul. It looks good on paper but that's a lot of money for a salvaged airplane... It was done by Dave M. Which I have heard nothing but good things about. Check out the rebuild here https://www.airmodsflightcenter.com/shop-project.
