FloridaMan Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 Likely leaving Falcon the next time I'm up for renewal. Who else brokers aircraft insurance? Quote
MB65E Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 Why leave? I've had good luck with Falcon. However, never needed to put in a claim. I was the other party once in a Starr claim that went well. Air Capital is nice too. They were the only ones that could do a 5m liability policy on a 200k airplane. My Dads Taylorcraft is currently insured thru them. They all use the same underwriters. Currently, the lowest cost underwriter is Global. They have the best rates. Both Air Capital and Falcon were going to charge the same rate. ACI contact below. ✈Mary Anna Norton General Aviation Manager Office: 316-858-1999 Direct: 316-858-0627 Fax: 316-491-2245 Quote
TTaylor Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 I have used Pat Costello for many years. He stepped up when AOPA was being unreasonable. He shops the insurance around each year and gives us options. Very good service and communication. Quote
Joe Zuffoletto Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 I've been using Hope Aviation Insurance for years and have no complaints. https://www.hopeaviation.com/ Quote
AndyFromCB Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 https://www.ajg.com/industries/aviation/ They used be Nation Air, got folded into a larger organization. Still as good as ever. Had two claims over the years, both hail related, have nothing but good things to say. Annually they present me with all the options from all the carriers willing to insure me. Good people. Quote

Great adjuster that not only cut the check, but organized the repairs with a great shop and stayed on top of everything from the start. Quote
RobertGary1 Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 I've had a couple claims over the decades and have been super happy with the claims handling of Southwest Aviation Insurance http://www.southwestaviation.com/ -Robert Quote
EricJ Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 One of the founders is a personal friend and I insure my airplane with them:https://airpowerinsurance.com/ Quote
Two7Victor Posted November 29, 2017 Report Posted November 29, 2017 I just changed from Falcon to BWIFLY.com because the price was about 1/2 what Falcon quoted on my renewal. I had no claims and more hours now but Falcon still wanted a significant increase over last year. Quote

They get quotes from insurance carriers and pass those quotes on to you. Quote
Bravoman Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 I switched to falcon because of the Usaa connection. That is saving me a few buck, probably will cover 5 or 6 cases of a good import beer. Quote
Rustler Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 Over the years, for several airplanes, I have used Aircraft and Marine Assurance, Vancouver, WA, 800.466.4944. They are great folks to work with and are very thorough in their analyses of the policies they recommend. Can't beat 'em. Quote
82Mike Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 Adam Martz at global (ajuster) maybe one of the nicest guys I have ever dealt with. I did have a claim and they were tremendous. I would not ever take my business from them. Quote
jdrake Posted November 30, 2017 Report Posted November 30, 2017 +1 for Wendy Wenk. I moved from the AOPA Agency to Wenk back in 2013 and haven't looked back. Extraordinary service and advocacy. Quote

thinwing Posted December 2, 2017 Report Posted December 2, 2017 Travers for me...no claims in 7 /8 years...rate is holding steady Quote
DMJones Posted December 3, 2017 Report Posted December 3, 2017 Along these lines, I'm sure that answers will vary, but I'd guess that different brokers cater to "different" customers. Some might find the best rates for bazillion-hour ATPs, while others might find the best rates for student pilots. Also, I'm sure the answers will be different for different model Mooneys, as replacement costs will vary. So, would it be appropriate to ask what everyone pays, along with experience and model? Or is that too personal? Quote
Zwaustin Posted December 5, 2017 Report Posted December 5, 2017 With Bill White currently and have been for a couple years ... no complaints. Quote
MyNameIsNobody Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 Cliff at Falcon. Just renewed with Global. Flat to penny from 2017. Quote
Spurious Moppet Posted December 6, 2017 Report Posted December 6, 2017 Any experience getting coverage for Mooneys based on grass strips? I have to switch brokers due to moving out of state and they told me it can be a little more difficult with a grass runway at home base. Currently coverage is with Starr. Quote
mike_elliott Posted December 18, 2017 Report Posted December 18, 2017 I have recently had a client with a new M20V get insurance for 5 days only while in the US. I have never seen an insurance agency take care of the issues presented with more professionalism. Please consider Tom. His team is stellar Tom Hauge Wings Insurance 612-578-5055 Quote

Every year they make it simple! I called TJ about 7 years ago, while working in Phoenix for about 4 months. We had lunch, a chat about insurance options, flying & business. He gave me a source for a hangar, without a wait and someone to do an owner assist annual while I was transient. The went the extra mile, just to help out! Edited December 18, 2017 by Bob Quote
TerryDubYa Posted December 18, 2017 Report Posted December 18, 2017 Mike Strombeck out of KVNY did a great job with finding underwriters with the best rates, especially for a new owner with previously zero Mooney time. http://www.aviatorsinsurance.com/ Quote
