thinwing
This guy plans to launch to 1800 feet in his crowd sourced steam rocket to prove us all wrong!

takair
He might be right. At 1800’ you can see the end of the earth. You would not want to go too far or too high because you might go over the edge, and then what would you do? Could be what happens in the Bermuda Triangle, where the edge is much closer to mainland. Piloto
It is actually a flat round disc like a coin.
Amelia
I read somewhere that this guy is a recent convert to flat-eartherism. He couldn’t raise the money he needed for his rocket adventure, so he found a different target audience. Too bad the earth’s curvature isn’t all that apparent until some 40000 feet up. His expected 1800 feet, even higher than pattern altitude here in NE NC, might get him high enough to hurt himself, though. I got a dollar that says he chickens out.
