RobertE
My Sirius XM weather displays on a Gamrin 696 that happens to mounted in the panel. When I’ve got the display set to “weather” it often dims the image. Basically, the map goes from light in color to sort of a nighttime look. If I quit displaying weather it goes back to normal. I’m not sure if this is a problem with the 696, the antenna for the 696 or Sirius XM. Anyone got any ideas? A google search doesn’t turn up anything. Thanks. carusoam
A way of checking with Garmin would be helpful... I see this kind of situation with iPhone apps and MS... The users point out the challenge they are seeing directly to the app guys. Simultaneously reporting the hardware and related software that is being used... SOmetimes this is a highly automated situation... Other Times It is more manual... I am always surprised when the CEO of a small company emails back... the early days of cloudahoy and WingX... Garmin will be more pro... sort of... Best regards, -a-
RobertE
To close the loop on this, Gamrin support was very helpful and immediately knew root cause. A darkened screen is their way of telling you there is incomplete weather data. This explains why the problem is sporadic and disappears entirely if displaying weather isn’t selected. I’m passing this on in case others come across the problem. Thanks for the help, everyone.
