The rest of the Story ( removing carpet pad)

Last Thursday I posted about removing my glued down carpet padding and finding a little surface corrosion.  Upon further inspection I found gray powder by the end of the outside passenger seat rail, so out comes all the carpet on the walls.  So on Monday I get to start drilling out the rail so it can be inspected, cleaned primed and painted and replaced.  Also, while there I notice that the fuel pickup was leaking and all brown, that will also be cleaned up and resealed.  All will be put back together with new carpet to replace the 33 year old wool carpet.  Talk about opening a can of worms, but I would not have it any other way.
