Olaf_W
The stabilizer trim on my M20J is working heavy, either manually or electric. Usually I am using the electric trim, today while shut off engine I was able to listen the electric trim motor working extremly hard, guess this was short before popping the fuse. I checked the trim wheel, chain and gear box by removing a torque tube member: the forward system works pretty easy. So I assume something in the rear area doesn't work well. As i don't want to disassemble the whole empennage i like to ask the community if somebody figured out a similar issue? Thanks in advance, Olaf
bradp
Olaf this is not the thread I was looking for, but consider whether there is tough old grease causing binding with the trim jackscrew.
N201MKTurbo
There has been a lot written on this subject. Just search and find the threads you will find all you need to know. If you do it right it is easy to remove, clean and lube the jackscrew, making your system like brand new for a few hours of labor.
