Mooney & PALS

Was at the Ohio Aviation Conference earlier this week and started talking with Jen from PALS (flights for patients).  We started chatting a bit and when I mentioned that I flew a Mooney, she mentioned a pilot in NJ that flew for them and "it's great because he makes videos and flies with his wife and a parrot and has sent several people to us to offer their services/airplanes."

So a hat tip to 201er and his wife - you and your efforts have done some good stuff and are making a difference! (AND it was fun for me to make a connection between a quasi-internet peer and a in-real-life person). Thanks.

It's a great organization. They do a really good job of linking patients, pilots, and donors. Typically I only volunteer for the more difficult flights like flying into Bravo airports or taking two linking flights and going nonstop all the way. Mooney gives me the capability to do that!

+1 for PALS. Great organization. I fly for them as well and it's an incredible experience to be able to use our hobby to support those in need. There are a fair few missions where the number/weight of passengers and/or their outsized luggage (e.g. wheel chairs) causes me to take a pass, but many more we can take in our Mooneys.

As Mike says...our birds have the legs to take longer flights and go faster than all but the turboprops and jets.
