GaryP1007
Flying to a meeting in Cary next week and am looking for a recommendation for an airport FBO in the area. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hank
RDU was surprisingly easy and nice when I visited three or four years ago. And I'm not really a towered field fan.
midlifeflyer
RDU is convenient, about 15 minutes depending where in Cary. It's a pretty easy Class C (but my view may be skewed by having been based at KAPA Denver Centennial fir 20 years) and pretty GA friendly with two GA FBOs, Signature and TAC Air. They are sued by side and, since I'm based elsewhere, don't really have a preference between them. But it's expensive. Even many aircraft based there rarely buy fuel there. Another decent Cary option, about a half hour away, is KTTA, Raleigh Executive, in Sanford. Nontowered, easy access to US 1. It's my current home base with a good staff. I'd suggest coffee if you have time but I'm going to be in New Orleans next week.
Bob_Belville
I picked up a MooneySpacer at KIGX (Chapel Hill) a few weeks ago. He uses that field regularly, I suppose staying overnight regularly. It would depend upon what services you require.
bradp
I recently went to IGX for a day trip. Easy in and out with an Uber. Small old time FBO with fuel service (no fuel truck).
mccdeuce
I would say it depends where you are going in Cary. I am in and out of IGX about every other week. I find IGX very easy and straightforward but there are some "noise" and hour restrictions. $10/night not waived with fuel purchase. Raleigh Exec is good spot to go. Self serve fuel. GA oriented. Raleigh (RDU) is an easy airport and as an airport is GA friendly. Personally though I find the FBOs don't really want the little guy buisness. They want the corporate traffic. Wistarmo
Have always had good service with TAC Air.
M20F
I use TacAir and will be there this week. Easy enough and the overnight is cheap enough to where I don't even remember what it is.
