Heading to Toronto, need airport and FBO recommendations

Hi! I searched and didn't find any recommendations, anyone frequent Toronto and know the best airport and FBO to use, that is also an airport of entry? (Non Canpass)

Will need to rent a car and park the plane for a few days, and don't mind being 30 mins or more from town if it means more reasonable cost and a friendly FBO.

Thanks in advance,

Greg

Afraid it's been a couple decades since I flew into CYTZ, Toronto Island Airport.  I've never rented a car from there, but I understand Enterprise/Hertz/National are available.  Alternatively, you can take the free shuttle to downtown and rent from one of the many locations near Union Station, which might be a bit cheaper.  Stolport (FBO) was $25/nite plus a $25 facility fee; you might want to reserve parking online.  Landing fee is about $20.

+1 for CYTZ.

It it is a lot of fun to fly in there.  It can be busy, but the controllers have always been helpful and friendly.

Porter is the FBO that I used.  Agree with the prices above. But can't beat the convienece .

There is an underground walkway from the island to the city   There are plenty of cabs waiting on the city side    From there, you can probably find a better place than the airport to rent a car if you need.

I have flown in there with non-canpass passengers a couple of times and customs has declined to come out and freed us quickly.

If you have not done the international thing, don't fret   It is easy.   Don't forget your EAPIS and remember to let you return airport know ahead of time if you are coming back on a weekend when someone might not usually be around.   And make sure you have your homeland security sticker.

How about CYKF?  The local MSC could help you out.
