rbridges
it's only $40, but I'd like to know if others have used it. Is it worth getting or spend the $40 on avgas?
Godfather
I purchased a guide years ago (I don't think it was from aopa) and I found it helpful. However, with an iPad and some saved PDF files the need is probably lower than it used to be. Great times, I really need to get back down there... M20F
http://www.caribbeanflyingadventures.com/ Much better and Jim will answer just about any question you have. Fuel prices are updated regularly along with details of how you get in/out of each of the islands.
jlunseth
The Bahamas & Caribbean Pilot's Guide, and I think that is what AOPA offers. The "bundle" would include a chart and the customs documents you will need to enter the Bahamas and return to the US. They are very useful, but you can also get the documents at Bahamas customs and US customs. Lots faster if you have it and can fill it out ahead of time. The bigger deal is to sign up for an eAPIS account and figure out how to use it, especially departing the Bahamas where finding an Internet connection may be difficult. You are going to need one, so figure out ahead of time how and where you can do that.
Bravoman
Don't know much about the bundle, but from my experience the Bahamas & Caribbean Pilots guide has lots of good info. At Sun n Fun last year the Bahamas Tourism folks had a kiosk and had a couple of free handouts that also is very helpful. The FBO at Ft Pierce has all the docs you'll need for customs and immigration on both sides so you can fill stuff out in advance. They also rent life preserving equipment for a fairly modest fee.
