ADS-B "Over"

...and I read it and there was not much value to be attained from my perspective.

My apologies for a wasted post. I guess I'll try and track down the comments by David Loso and see if there is any insight to be had there.

I perused the article this morning and I only gleaned from it that owners are demotivated by the costs. I read the AEA magazine every once and a while and even they know that there is a serious lack of interest. Baby boomers are losing their medical certs and are abandoning aircraft ownership; the writing has been on the wall for years. I remember back about five years ago were I saw an ad for a clean Aztec that the owner was basically giving it away for free if the new owner kept it flying. Seems like only the rich and extremely thrifty owners will survive - I don't fall into either category... Maybe the Canadian themed "Owner Maintenance" will save what's left after 2020?

I'm not planning on equipping for ADS-B until I see if I can change my flying habits or do the flying I want outside of this airspace. I don't have WAAS in my airplane so another $5k for little benefit to me seems like a big waste of funds. Time will tell if I can stay outside of ADS-B airspace with my mission.
