Leather yoke patern

I'd like to see this as well, pictures would be great. I wouldn't mind spending the money to have Aero Comfort cover my yokes, but I hate the thought of all of those wires having to be de-soldered and then re-soldered. It sounds like a good chance of maintenance induced failure waiting to happen. If there's a way to get it looking good without removing the yoke I'd be interested. However I wouldn't want it to look like the picture below. (This is a Warren Gregoire slip on yoke cover that was for sale on Ebay). It looks like Mooney meets the Michelin Man . . tacky.

No thanks. That's like a Walmart steering wheel cover.

Good evening guys.

Does any one have templates to make a leather yoke. Im swining by an hide shop to buy some hide and want to try to make my own leather yoke.

Thx.

JT

Had some nice Spinneybeck full grain left over from my interior and used it to cover the yokes. I did this freehand with no templates...

Incidently, here's one very unhappy camper and a good example of what can happen if not done properly. IMG_0121.thumb.PNG.e8411283903b43934599bf87852f1955.PNG

The stitching looks nice but it looks like a small animal got trapped in there during installation.
