Houston Tank Specialists

Recommended Posts

I started the linked thread above.  It has been 10 months since I had full strip and reseal on both tanks (J model).  Last fall, one, single, screw on the wing walk, near the tank access panel developed a small leak when completely full.  I contacted Carl and he said, "No problem. Bring it in when you can and we'll reseal the screw while you wait".

In the meantime I had an unplanned engine overhaul and am just now arranging to get the plane back to Eagle Lake for the repair.  That said, I am confident the warranty repair will be done correctly and without any hassle from Houston Tank Specialists.  I would recommend without hesitation.  I will report back on the warranty repair when completed.  I have not had any additional leaks, either.

I had both tanks resealed by Houston Tank Specialists last July. Carl Sharon possesses a real passion in doing the job right and I have not been disappointed. Carl kept me informed with progress, including pictures. He is an A&P and I had him perform my annual during reseal process. I highly recommend HTS.

Just back from the warranty repair of one single screw leaking on the wing walk access panel.  Carl and his fine young crew made the repair while I waited.  It was a bit cool outside, so aside from the wait to allow the sealant to cure, the repair was done quickly and efficiently.  Completely satisfied.  Returned home, filled the tank and no more leaky screw.  Warranty repair with no hassle.

Thanks Carl.

Highly recommend. And, I will return to have the landing gear biscuits replaced.

I was quoted $7500 for both tanks full strip and reseal for an M20K 252 with standard tanks. This includes all new gaskets on the senders and new fuel lines, etc. I chose to only do the right tank and negotiated a price on that.

I expect to have a DER looking at the spar situation tomorrow (Saturday). Stay tuned...
