S-tec 30 autopilot system, brand new in box, complete.

Recommended Posts

I have a brand new, old stock, S-tec (Genesys now) System 30 autopilot for sale. This is a rate based 2 axis autopilot with altitude hold. It is complete. All servos, brackets, harness, turn coordinator, etc. It has never been installed or used for anything, or completely unpackaged for that matter, and comes with all paperwork and documentation required......wait for it.....wait.....to install it in a Grumman AG5B. We are an S-tec dealer, this was ordered quite a while ago for a customer and never installed. This system can be modified as needed and new STC paperwork issued for numerous 28V aircraft. The cost is varied, it requires the autopilot to be sent back to Genesys and modified to be the part numbers required for that installation, an install kit containing the proper brackets and harness, and a new STC transferred to the aircraft. It can also be installed in an Experimental aircraft as is, as long as it's similar to a Grumman Tiger. It would work great in any 28V RV or the like. This system lists for $11989.00. If you own a Grumman AG5B Tiger or an experimental, I will sell you this one installed for $9000.00 provided you bring the plane to KDAB. If you want it for installation elsewhere, $7500.00 plus shipping to you.

Wait for Sun n Fun and then the big one in Oshkosh Should be some great announcements then. It's really not too far away.

The new digital autopilots being worked up for STCs are much easier to install (lower cost) and have features none of the legacy ones have.

Go look at Trio autopilots and their Pro model for instance.

Not at all, the OP was asking about a new A/P and talk was about the new ones coming out which this is. An Stec 30 ain't bad but it still needs extra stuff to install. I was just showing options

I have no connection with Trio, just think their A/Ps look like a good deal for our older airframes I'm looking at them

Why would you think I'm trying to pee on someone elses parade?  The OIP was looking for options ?

I really don't understand where you are coming from.

Cliffy -- the original poster is trying to sell an autopilot. He created this thread to advertise it for sale. He also is an avionics installer. That is why comments were made about you peeing on someone's else parade. The guy is trying to make a living.

OK My profound apologies!

I thought I was posting to something else where someone was looking for an A/P and didn't know what to get. Now I have to go search for that thread.

Where I live (way out in the boonies) we have very slooow internet and quit possibly (and it does ) it got screwed up in changing pages etc.

I didn't go back to reread the OP so my bad. I just answered the notification.

Again, no intent to rain on anyone's parade. In fact the A/P talked about sounds like a pretty good deal for someone. Brand new, never used. Lots better than a second hand one by far. I hope it sells fast for him.

There are a couple of planes for sale that need this. Personally I can't see spending any money on a Mooney that didn't come with an autopilot installed. And this is a good one for any of those B/C/D/E/F or even J that don't have a good autopilot.

This is described as a 28V system. Our vintage Mooneys are all 14V so I don't know if it could be adapted...

This is a great autopilot and a good price. Unfortunately most Mooneys that this would be good for are 14v. By the time you sent this back to S-tec (Genesys) and bought the new paperwork as well as had everything modified to fit a Mooney, you would be better off buying a system new specifically for that aircraft. Good buy for someone with a Grumman or an experimental though.

Dear jclemens,

Please I have a Grumman Tiger with Autopilot STEC-40 with only Roll control. I am interested to have also the pitch control.

Can you please send me a copy of the servo-roll installation document in order to have an idea.

I am living in France and difficult to come and install it in your shop.

Please you can send me the information by Email : s.r.t@orange.fr

Kind regards,

Kosai
