carqwik
Story suggests that the pilot had some kind of gear problem (1993 Bravo N3RZ) and couldn't get it down...forced to belly land. Of course, no idea if the reporting is accurate. http://www.kathrynsreport.com/2016/09/incident-occurred-september-29-2016-at.html Plane is/was listed for sale by Byerly Aviation...says gear was "overhauled" in 2014. http://www.byerlyaviation.com/n3rz/#1446154554729-ac7935ce-a1f7 Possible no-back spring issue? DVA
Does anyone here know if there has ever been more than that single confirmed failure of the no-back spring that spawned the AD years ago?
carusoam
There have been some really good pictures of cracks forming in the spring posted around here somewhere. The details seem to show more cracks over time. See if you can find them by the search function. It would be interesting to get your thoughts. CaptainAB
That thing had been on the market forever. Maybe someone was trying to scuttle the plain?
