Pictures of Mooney M20F Executive 21, N6887V.  After trying to fly this plane and a twin over the last year I realized that flying 125-150 hours a year does not allow me to be as competent as I want to be flying two different planes.  That is the reason I have decided to put my Mooney on the market.  Love it and will miss how agile Mooneys handle.  Between the new prop, overhauled engine, Garmin 340, Garmin Flightstream, JPI 830, LED landing light, new attitude indicator, new altimeter, tires, etc., I have put in well over $50,000 in improvements to this Mooney in the last 18-24 months.  New seat covers and foam and this is basically a new plane.

Thanks.  I know I put more in it than the market would bear but planned to fly it 10+ years.  Then I had a friend convince me to get my ME while the Mooney was in for repairs and since I do a lot of night flying and overwater flying, the twin made more sense.  Of all the expenditures I made, only the GDL 88 is a regret.  I am installing a Garmin 345 in the twin for the ADS-b/Mode S for about $700 more than the GDL 88 alone and with the 345 you get a new transponder plus Mode S.  But that is the way it goes.

For the new guys that are not familiar....

A one piece windshield is a nice upgrade that removes the center connecting piece that is a bit of a pain to look through or around.  The original windshield is two pieces.  Back in the day the acrylic and it's shaping process was not advanced enough to go that large.  Installation of a one piece windshield doesn't take any 'significant' sheet metal metal work

a 201 windshield is an aerodynamic improvement and one piece windshield in one.  The bottom edge of the windshield is moved several inches forward and slopes nicely back.  The sheet metal in the area requires some 'significant' changes to obtain a nice finished look. The interior also gets a different glare shield.

I think I used the word 'Significant' to indicate your mechanic is going to charge many hours to get it done...

Getting the details correct is important when selling a machine.  Fixing them as quickly as you find out is important as well.  A knowledgable buyer will move on when he finds errors expecting that there will probably be more that he can't see.

A 201 windshield actually increases speed and/or efficiency.  Two details that are important to Mooney buyers.  There is a significant cost to add this to a plane. That would generate a discount to the price for not having the feature, depending on what is used to develop the pricing structure.

Best regard,
