I'm sure you Jepp subscribers saw their announcement to retire JSUM and replace it with JDM. I tried downloading and installing the Mac version tonight. No joy. Keeps coming up with an installation error. Anyone get the new software to work on a Mac?

Yes. I just updated my card this morning using the JDM application. No issues, Macbook Pro.

I've been using it for years.  All Jeppesen updates for the G500/GTN750/GTN650/Aera796 have been effortlessly done on either my Mac Pro or my Macbook.  Works way better than using the Garmin program, flygarmin.com.

Don -- JDM only came out sometime in the last few months. They sent us an email saying they were discontinuing JSUM and replacing it with JDM. I have JSUM on my Windows session running under Mac. Never could get it to run right on the Mac. I was holding out hope JDM would work. The installation keeps failing.

Thanks for verifying it should work. It just won't install. I'm an Apple Beta tester for the new Mac OS releases and I wonder if I have a beta that is screwing it up. I know I kill Parallels periodically with the beta versions. Forced then to boot into Windows from a cold start.

Chris, I have installed it on production releases of Mac OSX (both 10.10 and 10.11) without issues. Perhaps you could try those before attempting on a beta release.

Sriram -- this may be what is going on. I am on a beta 10.11.2 Beta. I'm addicted to getting to try out the new stuff. May need to resort to a Windows version of JDM until the bugs are worked out.

I had a bad experience when upgrading from 10.10 to 10.11. The installer got stuck at some point and I could not go back to 10.10 either. Fortunately the data on the disc could be accessed remotely and I managed to save that onto a different drive and do a clean install of 10.11. Now I am careful to do a full backup before even minor upgrades. Good luck with the JDM install, I am currently not running Parallels or Fusion. So far so good.

JDM has been around longer than a few months...I've been using it for nearly two years for my G1000 cards. And it works just fine on my iMac running OS X El Capitan, or whatever is the latest version...I can't keep up with Apple's OS naming systems anymore.

JDM for the Mac was introduced at Oshkosh several years ago and I have been using it since the beginning.

Marauder,

I had the same issues on my Macbook, but not on my imac, same operating system.

The Macbook install eventually worked after rebooting a couple of times it IOS asked to install a 'helper' program. After the second time doing that it worked just fine. I had also tried the later times with the USB adaptor plugged in. Not sure if that made a difference or not.

Ignore the error you get from the main program install and just carry on. It does show up in the Applications folder and you can run it from there. The startup  was kind of buggy, but worked fine for getting the downloads and updating a GNS card.

You do realize that Jepp provides 24x7 telephone technical support for their products - right? Whenever I've called them (after first trying to re-boot) they've have gotten me past any issue and I use them for a number of products. I'd call them, but the Apple beta version may scare them.

Chris I have it on my Mac also, Paul is right on but when I call Jepp which has been a lot I never tell them it's a Mac because a few yrs. ago they told me they don't support Mac or guarantee its use, but I've been using in on the Mac for years.
