always seems that the runs that work for me end up not working out for some reason, we moved this guy last week. He was happy as a clam at 13,5, which made me happy. I was worried about him at alt.

Here's his new family.

Yep. I've done it before. Did you guys use your "Compassion" call sign? I've gotten many shortcuts that way... And in the remarks portion of the flight plan where I put the information pertaining to it, I include dogs on board, or something to that effect.

Way To go!!! I've heard of that compassionate call sign, never used it. What is it? I usually just put in remarks "Pilots n paws rescues on board. rdcd roc rod"

and the controllers have been very good at not giving me dive and land descents and shortcuts to keep altitude below 9000 when traveling with furry passengers.

I just did my first run yesterday from Sacramento to Bakersfield. Another pilot took the dog from there to Van Nuys. All in all a nice mission since the dog was to be euthanized if no one him took from the shelter in Sacramento. The dog was blind (a mini poodle) and I am glad it will get to live its life out in peace.

Struggled with the medium sized crate to get it into my J. Had to take the top off and re-assemble in the back seat. The C172 which took the dog from Bakersfield had no problem getting the crate through its comparatively huge door. Have to think about getting a soft sided carrier.

Info below on the "compassion" call sign. I didn't know about it until I read it here..
