Best Compliment Ever

So she was 20 months before we got to take actually take her up for her first flight, but after 30mins of playing with her ipad, and being bounced around in moderate turbulence at 5500' she dozed off and slept through remaining 15 minutes of the flight,  the three point crosswind landing, me pushing the plane back in the hangar, putting her in Mommy's arms while I moved her carseat from the plane back to the Rover, then all the way home ( a 30 minute ride).   

 

Now I know you don't know my daughter that well, but she's much like me in that she is somewhat reluctant to sleep because she's afraid of missing something. So her sleeping while in flight, and all the way back to the house in the middle of the day is a huge compliment! I cannot wait to keep her sitting behind that big fan, and even more excited about getting her in the right seat when she's old enough to understand it :-).

Abe, you are a lucky guy with a charming family. When I took my mother in law for her ever first flight she was counting rosary beads while my son and my wife were at sleep. After the flight I asked my mother in law if she felt uneasy about the plane. She replied: "not about the plane but the pilot".

I have had many such flights with almost all of my 7 grandchildren most of whom have not known me without an airplane!

When my children were young I did not own (could not afford and airplane then....)

My son is 4 and has logged around 100 hours, my daughter is 10 mos and has around 20. My boy is finally getting to the age where he enjoys the flight and doesn't just zonk out. Well done Abe!

Watching my kids enjoy flying is awesome although they don't always love it.  It beats driving to Grandma's house. 

 

I acquired my automatic gear well cleaner and navigator about 4 years ago. Maintenance and upkeep is time consuming, but not too expensive. He prefers not to sit in the coach section in the back.  He likes Mooney's due to their correct tail shape and speed, and wonders how those C airplanes fly with the wing on top. He occasionally navigates instead of playing Angry Birds. I too couldn't be more proud.
