Wesley brown Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Well I finally bought the Bose headsets and had a chance to use them today. Man do I love these headsets! The problem is that I thought I would hand down my soft com noise canceling to my wife. When we plugged them in today all I heard was a loud squelching noise and I assumed that the headsets weren't getting along! I also had a cheap ANR light speed set that did the same thing .can someone share with me what headsets they use that are comparable to Bose? We did use some David Clark's with the Bose and it worked fine. I would like to buy a nice set of ANR for my wife can someone tell me what to get so I wouldn't be waisting my time and money? Thanks, Quote

Thanks, I use Bose A20 and my wife has light speed Sierra and they work fine. I have a PMA7000 intercom. My old Sigtronics did not work in the back seats and I had to replace them with Stereo headsets from PCA. Quote

Thanks, The ANR is internal and should not effect other headsets. Did ALL headsets put out squelching noise? If yes, sounds like feedback is being transmitted. Try unplugging the xmit plug of each headset, when you find noise stops, you found the offending headset. 1 Quote
Wesley brown Posted April 19, 2015 Author Report Posted April 19, 2015 It was only on one headset that did it (soft com ANR). When we changed to the David Clark's it cleared up. Quote
ArtVandelay Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 I've had multiple people bring their own headsets, no problem getting alone with my A20. So Bose and DC ok Bose and Lightspeed or Softcomm noise Some things to try... If you unplug the Bose, OK? If you just unplug the xmit plug? If you have Bose plugged in but ANR switched off? And if you swap jacks (Bose in copilot side)? Are all headsets active? Tried a passive, ie no ANR circuitry with the Bose? Quote
N601RX Posted April 19, 2015 Report Posted April 19, 2015 Check the stereo/mono switch on the headset. Quote
Wesley brown Posted April 20, 2015 Author Report Posted April 20, 2015 I'll have to play with it and see if the stereo and mono works! Quote

ArtVandelay Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 I'll have to play with it and see if the stereo and mono works! Which audio panel do you have? And also make sure the in cabin speaker is off. Some panels cut a channel if one headset is in mono mode, but I can't see why that would cause this problem, but it's worth a try, just make sure all headsets are set the same way. Quote
M20S Driver Posted April 20, 2015 Report Posted April 20, 2015 Which stereo headsets did you get from pca? I bought a PCA-6G. It should arrive this week and I will let you know how it does. Quote
M20S Driver Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 I bought a PCA-6G. It should arrive this week and I will let you know how it does. I tested the headsets yesterday. They work great with my Bose and PMA7000. I am amazed at the value that I got for $120 Quote
Wesley brown Posted April 26, 2015 Author Report Posted April 26, 2015 I looked up the PCA headsets they are priced right. What can you tell me about there noise canceling set? Have you ever used them and if so do they do a good job of noise reduction? Quote

Have you ever used them and if so do they do a good job of noise reduction? My headset, PCA-6G is the Passive one. It comes with gel ear seal so the passive noise reduction is pretty good. Yesterday, I used it with a Bose A20 and a Sierra in the front and one PCA-6G in the back. I asked my friend about the headset since he was using it in the back and he was happy with it. Quote
Wesley brown Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 Good deal thanks for the information! Quote
