Glenn Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 This is really well thought out and well executed. Quote
DXB Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Very nice- congrats! There are some details here that I hadn't considered until now, as I plan my own panel upgrade, including a panel mounted handheld radio input and a gear airspeed switch. It would be great to hear thoughts on these and other nice details. Is the latter an override for the gear position horn? [sorry- never mind on this, I just looked it up- not relevant to my manual gear] Quote
rbridges Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 very clean install. Looks like it could have been new from the factory. Quote
Mooney65E Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Very nice looking panel!!! Well organized. I also noticed the gear speed over ride and wondered why. Please tell us more. Quote
PTK Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Very beautiful and capable panel Tony! First class! A well thought out plan pays off! Enjoy! Quote
gsxrpilot Posted April 8, 2015 Report Posted April 8, 2015 Wow, that looks great. I've saved the pic just incase I ever redo my panel. I really like that layout. Quote

donkaye Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 BIG BIG discussion on Beechtalk regarding Avidyne extended warranty. If you signed it, for a short time they will let you out of it. If you value your estate absolutely opt out as soon as possible!!!!!!!!! If you didn't sign it, DON'T! Quote
tony Posted April 9, 2015 Author Report Posted April 9, 2015 Nice! Tell us about the CO detector. The CO detector is an option you can order with the MVP-50 Quote
Deb Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 Don, thanks for posting that. This is the paragraph in question. "(4). IF THE NATIONAL TRANSPORTATION SAFETY BOARD DETERMINES THAT THE PILOT (THE PERSON OPERATING THE AIRCRAFT EQUIPPED WITH AVIDYNE AVIATION PRODUCTS, HERINAFTER “PILOT”) WAS THE PROBABLE CAUSE OF AN ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT, AND PROVIDED THE ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT OCCURRED WHILE I HAD AN OWNERSHIP INTEREST IN THE ACCIDENT OR INCIDENT AIRCRAFT EQUIPPED WITH THE AVIDYNE AVIATION PRODUCTS, I WILL INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS AVIDYNE CORPORATION AND THE RELEASED PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ALL CLAIMS REFERRED TO IN THE PRECEDING PARAGRAPHS, AND PAY THE COSTS OF DEFENDING SUCH CLAIMS (INCLUDING ATTORNEY’S FEES), REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE ALLEGED INJURY, DAMAGE OR LOSS IS OCCASIONED IN WHOLE OR IN PART BY THE NEGLIGENCE, NEGLECT OR FAULT OF ANY ONE OR MORE OF THE RELEASED PARTIES. THIS CLAUSE WILL NOT APPLY TO THE PERSON SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDED THAT PERSON WAS NOT THE PILOT AND THE PILOT SIGNED AN AVIDYNE WAIVER, RELEASE AND INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT." tony Posted April 9, 2015 Author Report Posted April 9, 2015 Very nice looking panel!!! Well organized. I also noticed the gear speed over ride and wondered why. Please tell us more. There is an air pressure switch that closes when you reach 75 to 80 MPH. Once that closes, it enables the gear up command. The guarded gear override switch just bypasses the air pressure switch incase I ask the gear to come up and it doesn't. That has never happened but I figured it might be something to included since I was ripping everything all apart. Quote
tony Posted April 9, 2015 Author Report Posted April 9, 2015 Man...super nice! Well thought out. Would love to see the before picture just for fun. I love it. Don this is the before picture Quote
tony Posted April 9, 2015 Author Report Posted April 9, 2015 I'm not signing that thing. Some kid out of law school dreamed that thing up and the company is just getting nothing but bad press from it. The marketing department at avidyne needs to engage with the legal department and the company just needs to rescind it. For me personally, it just a like decisions we all make everyday. They are offering an extra year of warranty for a price. I have evaluated the offer and decided that there is not enough value in it for me. I therefore have chosen not to participate and move on. People are making a bigger deal out of it than it really is; but that what this social media does these days, a mechanism to foster drama. BIG BIG discussion on Beechtalk regarding Avidyne extended warranty. If you signed it, for a short time they will let you out of it. If you value your estate absolutely opt out as soon as possible!!!!!!!!! If you didn't sign it, DON'T! 1 Quote
ArtVandelay Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 this is the before pictureWow, I don't care what it cost, IMHO it was worth it And given the recent court cases against Lycoming it's hard to blame manufacturers for trying to protect themselves Quote
drapo Posted April 9, 2015 Report Posted April 9, 2015 That looks pretty much like my dream panel but I had to hold my horses when I redid mine. ,Great that you had the " courage" to go all the way! Can't wait to get "Avydined" myself! Quote
tony Posted April 9, 2015 Author Report Posted April 9, 2015 Thanks to all.....Well, I don't know about the rest of you but I started flying later in my life. It was a life long dream to become a pilot, then it was to own an airplane. what started out as a "hobby" has turned into a passion. There is definitely no logic associated with owning an airplane, no logic with upgrading a panel. It always boils down to a want and not a need. I figure I have about 15 years of flying left until the medical grounds me. So in the mean time, I plan on enjoying "Miss Mooney" 3 Quote
