Is it "just" a 10k$ transponder though? I think it offers alot more than that!

Someone with no GPS and presumably no mfd in the panel looking for a complete ADS-B solution would benefit.

It's a great option from another (bigger) gorilla!

It does offer more but not as much as a full GPS. You can add a FreeFlight for around $3k installed and have the stuff show up an iPad. What would be this cat's meow is if it can port the "in" piece over to my Garmin GTN and Aspen MFD. Meow, meow...

My kt76 was acting up yesterday while doing approaches. It is loose and needs an avionics tech to tighten it up or replace a cable or something. God I hope I don't have to buy a new adsb transponder with no gps to replace it.

Me too. Leaning toward the KT-74. I can use the old KT-76 as a back up. I already have traffic on the 530W and WX on the Aera 560. The Lynx looks nice but my wife is more inclined to an 80" 4K HDTV for less than $10K that looks nicer.
