Guest Posted August 2, 2014 Report Posted August 2, 2014 Been to Oshkosh 28 times, some by car, some by plane, camped on field and hotel off field. On field is fun as local amenities have improved over the years. Clarence Quote
gsxrpilot Posted August 3, 2014 Report Posted August 3, 2014 This was my first time to Oshkosh. I wanted to wait until I owned a plane and could fly in. Flying in with the Mooney Caravan has got to be the best, safest and easiest way to fly in. I fully intend to make this a regular thing. Quote
N9201A Posted August 9, 2014 Report Posted August 9, 2014 Tenth year in a row. Camped, hotel'd in OSH and nearby, and rented a house. Haven't done Fisk and watched Caravans improve arrival from only slightly less stressful than Fisk to quite simple and FUN! Originally came for the planes, but keep coming back for the people. It's a week with fellow aviators of all stripes. Stopping midsentence to watch an airplane take off isn't rude like "normal people" think the other 51 weeks of the year, it's expected. And you could literally "bump into" aviation legends like Bob Hoover, "Bud" Anderson, Burt Rutan, Patty Wagstaff or scores of others. For me during that week, Oshkosh is the greatest place in the world. Quote
