Ovation 1&2 Power Settings

I have been searching through post trying to ascertain good power settings everyone is using in their O1 and O2's.  Would any O drivers care to comment on what power settings you use for MP, RPM, and Mixture?  Specifically,

 

Take Off - I use WOT, full prop and keep the CHT in the white bar on the G1000 which is around 1375 all the way to level off

 

Cruise - 8000-12000 feet - I use WOT, 2400 RPM, and I lean to 100 degree ROP.  I am interested in your mixture settings for ROP and LOP.

I have the 310 HP conversion but that should not make any difference.

 

Take Off is WOT x full prop till 1000 AGL then I pull the RPM back to 2550 (max cruise setting) and use the APS leaning method to hold EGT to 1300°F on the way up.

 

Cruise - 6000 to 11,000 MSL depending on winds, my last trip was 6000' at 22.9 x 2430 @ 14.3 gph or 70% power making 168 KTAS @ 70°F LOP

I do everything the same , I don't have the G1000 so I keep mixture @ the top of the blue 1450 EGT

O1, IO550(g), 280hp is limited to 2500 RPM. Standard 3 blade.

EGT kept in the blue box for climb (200-300 ROP)

Cruise 2500rpm, 100ROP at 11,500'. 175kts

Cruise 50 to 10 LOP at 11,500'. 165kts

Generally max throttle, max rpm, adjust mixture as required/desired.

O3, IO550(n), 310hp is limited to 2700 RPM. Hartzell Scimitar.

Cruise at 2550.

This is from memory, so it may not be all that accurate.

I will be trying to collect better data after engine Break-in over the next few months.

I have some learning to do still.

Your EGT has a white box on the G1000 similar to the O1 EGT gauge, exept the box is blue. This is based on a 7th EGT sensor on one side of the engine at the confluence of three cylinders.

I run 15 degrees ROP up to 8500 then I run LOP 25 degrees lean. I also have GAMI injectors but I don't think there should be any difference. Cylinders made it to 1500 hours before replacement.

70F LOP seems like it may be quite a bit leaner than BSFCMIN

Barrett Performance Engines nickel treats Continental cylinders to extend their life.  Stock cylinders usually will not reach 2000 hours.
