Crappy narco radios, jurrasic GPS, prop inspection every 200 hours, inop PC system, low SMOH time but was it an owner field overhaul? Claims 8.5 on the paint but from the pics looks more like a 7 at best. Maybe $35k was a starting negotiation point. Buyer beware

Engine was OH in 91, installed in 2001. (I may be a year or two off with those years, but you get the idea). Prop has the 100 AD. Panel is still shotgun. Cowl Mod looks like it was installed in the last few years (some 2012 photos I found of it showed it unpainted). However, if you look closely there is a lip between the spinner and the cowl deck. It didn't look right to me so I fwded to swta. They said it was either the engine mounts sagging or the install was shotty as they had no record of doing it. I'm not sure which way to lean on that considering the screws aren't even near the front of the cowl. I put a value on the plane of about $30k(even learning to the low side of that number) but Alan will not take $1 less than $35, so my search continues...

Overhauled in 91, installed in 2001?! Wow, for valuation, that is worthless and needs an overhaul...it must have been sitting for a while. I thought it was weird he mentioned new hoses in 2012 if it only had 100 smoh, since those should havebeen replaced. That much time between explains the need for new hoses...I'd say my original $30k estimate was too generous...

Actually It never sat outside until I owned it , and my worthless engine is running just fine, amazing that you guys can kick the tires from  3000 miles away.....And I bought it from the guy who bought it in the 80s.....  My crappy narco radios work great , and the airports havent moved since my "Jurrassic" gps was installed.....You guys definitely entertain me......

Well, according to you your engine runs fine, but since there is likely corrosion from that much sitting, I certainly wouldn't fly it...but we're talking value, and simply put, your engine, despite 100 SMOH, to an informed buyer, would have little value. Your narco radios, likewise , would have little value, especially since it is not a supported product. While airports don't move. Identifiers do change, I would also mention airspace and obstacle database changes, but it would not have that database. Further, you mention updated gear donuts, but those are the standard, not really an update. Yes, we are kicking tires from 3k away, much like you did with a 20C in Camarillo (3k away from you) Are you somehow more able to evaluate planes from a distance? Just using information you put out, and of course, things you left out.

Also, not sure what type of rating scale you're using. How would an interior which you rate as an 8, require interior work? Assuming 1 - 10 scale, an 8 should be pretty good. Of course, your 8.5 rating of paint was too generous, from you pictures...

Well I guess you are the expert......Perhaps I should lower the price to 5000.00    Bottom line is I can part it out for more than 30K and I will if it comes to that.....  I can easily get 10 K for the cowl , 10 K for the engine , 2.5 for the prop , 3 K for the bladders , 1200 for the gear pucks and stacks , 600 for the main wheels and brakes , 4 K for electronics , another 6 K misc .....  I will not sell it for less than the value of its parts......

Well I suppose we have reached a head.   I just thought it was very ironic you were talking down the 20C in CA much like you owned the holy grail.  Alan, instead of trying to sell us on how great your plane is.. you should probably just start taking it apart.  I don't even know you, and I wouldn't buy your plane for $5, because you have no humility.  These gentleman, as well as myself have stated mere facts about the condition of your plane, and you refuse to accept the truth.  Like I told you before, any man who pays you $35k for that thing is a fool.
