I may be mistaken, but I believe the D model is a fixed gear Mooney. Possibly Ron's ad description of a gear up landing might be incorrect.

It is a retract. My buddy inherited this and likes mountain biking better. I'm the only one who flys it. I googled the tail number years ago and found the gear up landing. That's when my friends dad bought it. Ron

I think most were converted straight out of the factory, prior to delivery. The D was a little less expensive because of some interior and equipment
