Here is my latest Opinion Leaders column. While at Sun n Fun I was looking for a great story and at the morning press briefing I got it.  What I love about Fly Like a Girl, it that it feel grass-roots and based on passion much as Boots on the Ground the Men & Women who made Mooney was for me.  I hope you enjoy the read and consider supporting the project with a few bucks.  We not only need more female pilots, but mechanics, FBO owners and airport managers too.  https://blog.aopa.org/aopa/2017/04/14/fly-like-a-girl-inspiring-a-new-generation/

Here is my July installment for AOPA Opinion Leaders:  https://blog.aopa.org/aopa/2017/07/16/out-of-this-world-request-an-invitation-for-a-different-view/

It was fun to get this unusual request and to go get to see my home airport in a new light.  Getting packed for Oshkosh and arriving in style with the Mooney Caravan!  Hope to see a lot my Mooney Family.  I will be part of the Mooney International booth as well as some duties at AOPA.

Well I have worked hard, but you are right I am very lucky to have so many friends in aviation. It is a small world you know.

For any CA Mooney Pilots, think about coming to the CalPilots Airfest 2017 in San Carlos, CA Octobre 13 & 14th

@mooneygirl,

  For my own selfish reasons (IR check-ride scheduled just over a month from today), best article yet!  Congratulations on the rating and your perceverance.  The training is exhausting and rewarding at the same time.  Unlike PPL training I do find myself willing to fly longer as there are rewards (or failures) at the end of each approach and both seem to spur me on to the next approach, either to better the last or try a new one.  Again, congrats!

Gotta get that rating!  I hope you enjoy my article about finally attaining the instrument ticket.  2018 will be my commercial and CFI.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone

  Well for my last flight of 2017 I took an IR check ride....and passed!!!!!

Took the IR written on December 11th and the check ride on the 28th.  Hardest rating to date by far, but worth every minute.

Ron

That is so totally cool. Congrats, and welcome to the club. I can't believe how much I was able to fly VFR. The rating makes everything SO much easier.

That will make getting to MSN and OSH a lot less nerve racking!

Here is my latest installment for AOPA Opinion Leaders on Amy Helm, a cool, fierce, and determined airport manager in Glenwood Springs Colorado. I am hoping to stop there on my way to OSH18 if the weather-Gods allow.
