  1. Some leftovers from panel and other upgrades over the last couple of years...good for spares. $125 each, or all three for $299 $90 each, or all three for $225 - shipping included. Or make an offer. All are 28-volt. * Mid-Continent MD41-528 annunciator (works with the older KLN-89B and KLN-94 GPS units) * Whelen 90033 anti-collision beacon. With fresh mounting gasket and mounting ring hardware * Whelen HDACF strobe power supply
  2. Whelen strobes and incandescent nav lights removed from M20J in November 2021. The two wing strobe power units are original equipment installed in 1984. The tail strobe power unit was installed in 2006. Asking $200 for everything. Photos attached.
  3. All is working great. No tail strobe on that year. Sure did not take an "hour", more like 6 if is you first time. Biggest work around for me was getting something for the strobe housing to screw into. I will put some pics down below. Question I have is right now the yellow wire is not attached. Given just wing strobes, If I attach both yellow wires- the sync wires, how does the "brain" know how to sync them? Just curious, I am guessing the old power packs took care of that job. Is the circuitry built into the strobes? Does the yellow wire just interrupt the ground for a split second? ll went fine
  4. Anyone have any experience with the latest LED landing lights from Whelen or AeroLEDs? Since we have an M20J with a single PAR46 in the cowl, the AeroLEDs Sunspot 46LX with both landing and taxi optics is attractive. Thoughts? Anyone try the latest Whelen Parmetheus Pro PAR46 light yet?
  5. I just replaced my original PAR 46 incandescent light with the AeroLed Sunspot LX. I'm not an electrical engineer so if i use the wrong term and you feel the need to correct me...get over it!! This post is informational only and to share my experience and outcome in making this big investment (assuming you agree $500 for a landing light is a big investment). ...on a side-note For those of you that made it to "Frost Kosh" early enough to join the Mooney Caravan BBQ on Sunday, wow what a great group of folks! The pulled pork, corn on the cob and draft beer (spotted cow...I think) was wonderful. I'm sorry I didn't make the Caravan this year but I assure you I will there in 2014. Dave Martin, thanks for the hospitality, you made us feel very welcome and part of the Mooney family. Ok back to the landing light, as you can see from the attached photo's the light itself is pretty cool looking with the 4 big LED's and 5 small ones. The next picture is simply reminding you it does matter which wire you're using unlike the original bulb that doesn't care which side the ground is connected. The next shot looks like a campsite but I found it easier to spread out some towels so I could manipulate the cowling while removing the light assembly. And lastly the finished job and don't ask why the little LED's are glowing yellow...I'm not a photographer either. Overall the job was very simple, the PAR 46 slid right into place and other than making sure your wires are not crossed...nothing to it. The light is crazy bright, myself along with two pilot buddies walked in front of the plane about 40 feet and you could not look at the light...keep in mind it is noon, clear skies and sun shining bright. Unfortunately i can't tell you in this post how it does down the runway but I am planning a night flight this evening and will give you some feedback. Rick
  6. Woot Just finished my first MAJOR upgrade, well Major to me. First time I've taken a screwdriver to my bird.

  8. Whelen Strobe Power Supply--- SOLD Model HDHCF A413AHDA-CF-14/28 Removed from my M20R last week while trouble-shooting inoperative wing tip strobe. The problem turned out to be arcing in a connector. This power supply works perfectly; I can't return the new one and don't need a spare.
  9. Sold , was: Here is the next item, it is a Whelen A650-PR wing position light (red cover) and strobe. 28V position light bulb (Whelen p/n W1290-28), but you could change the position light bulb assembly to a 12V (W1290-14, ~$39 new) if needed for a 12V airplane. These are $314 new, a salvage yard will charge you $200, how about the first $149 $99 takes it, plus shipping. USPS Priority can get it there for just under $14. Or, will part out, also have a left A650 with good parts.
  10. SOLD!! Here is a 14 or 28v power supply for a Whelen 3-light system, it is model HDACF, manufactured 3-2011 and only used 100 hours or so. This is the later "Comet Flash" style supply. $249 OBO, this is a little more than half of what they go for new. USPS Priority shipping included at this price!
  11. OK guys, up for sale ::SOLD:: s a Whelen A500 tail light/strobe with an included 28V incandescent position light bulb (Whelen p/n A510-28) , if you have a 12V airplane you could put in a 12v tail light bulb (p/n A510-12, they are ~$32) if needed. Of course the strobe tube takes the high voltage flash from your power supply so they work with either 12V or 28V systems. These are normally $221 new and salvage yards will charge you $125 or so, how about $99 OBO, plus shipping. These can go via USPS Priority medium flat rate box for $13.95 anywhere in the US.
  12. I have Whelen A650 strobe/nav lights which appear to be replaced directly with Whelen 71110, anyone done this and is it just as simple as unscrewing the old one off and screwing the new one on? Appears to be from reading. What I can't figure out is what I have for a position light in the tail (67 M20F). It looks like Whelen 71554 replaces it but not positive and unsure what the difference is between horizontal and vertical mounting. It has Cessna for the vertical so assuming I need a horizontal? Appreciate input!
  13. From the album: AeroLED Landing Light

Replaced original bulb with AeroLED landing light
