  1. FOR SALE- Century 2000 autopilot with servos, HSI, Attitude Gyro and ancillary devices. Removed from ’89 M20J for Garmin upgrade. All for $1500 +shipping Also available are Rapco vacuum pump, Aero Safe 28V. standby pump and vacuum regulator.
  2. I removed my KC 295 flight computer to send to Bendix King for Bench Check. Can anyone tell me what the hose attachment to the unit is? Vacuum? Air cooling? Can the plane be flown with this unattached or does it need a plug to prevent a problem with the vacuum system?
  3. I removed my aero safe guardian I standby vacuum pump. 24 volt unit. It was mounted in the rear avionics bay of my my 1995 mooney ovation. looking at the log books, this unit has been installed for many years so the unit is not new. The unit works great as I had to use it twice due to engine mounted vacuum pump failure. The unit was run as a test every couple of months so it is has been maintained in good working condition. the unit weighs 7lb and six ounces. This unit lists for $2,000 at Chief aircraft. I'd like to get $700 and I'll pay shipping in the US.
  4. We are only four months into our ownership of a 1968 M20F. Ever since we had purchased the plane, the vacuum "LOW" light would be illuminated when we have the master switch on prior to starting the engine. This had made sense to us as the engine isn't running so there would be no vacuum. The other day, on our first flight after "patching" a substantial leak in the step retract boot (perhaps entirely unrelated), the light did not illuminate when we turned the master switch on. The light will illuminate brightly when pushed to test. Upon close inspection it is apparent that the light is occasionally barely lit, but just barely, when the engine is not running. Thoughts? Is this a concern? There seem to be no other symptoms.
  5. My vac pump died about a month ago and a week later I took it for Annual. Sure enough, pump disintegrated. The pic shows the flight (actually, my FR) where the pump failed, then the flight home from Annual with the new pump purring perfectly along at 5.5 or so, and then the flight last week where I kept getting vac warnings on my MVP-50 (4.5-5.5). Is this how a regulator goes south? I have not pulled the cowling and looked at anything yet. I have the full-monty Brittain system (Step, PC and 3-axis A/P). I also have the big filter that protects the system from a disintegrated pump.
  6. Since my last MX had me remove the entire PC system I have noticed the vacuum gauge reading on the low side (between the bottom of the gauge and the bottom of the green arc). I do not know if this is due to removing the PC but that is when I first noticed it. I do not get any HI or LO light indications and my vacuum instruments work well as I do not have to constantly set my heading indicator to the mag compass. Does anyone have an idea of what might be the problem? The only thing I could think of is a faulty gauge since everything else seems to be working fine.
