  1. Hello Forum I recently took my Acclaim into a Mooney Service Center for a few squaks plus the 310 hp upgrade. The shop contacted me today with information that Garmin won't let the G1000 display 2700 redline. I friend of mine has the 310 STC in his Acclaim and I don't remember seeing a second tach. I don't want a second tach and kills the deal of the upgrade for me. Does anyone have any experience with the 310 STC and intergrating it with the G1000? Thanks Andrew
  2. Hi, i am looking at an Acclaim that has a large gap in time between the tach time displayed on the G1000 and Hobbs meter at the back. The Hobbs shows around 930 hours while the tach time is at 1400. How can this happen? Is this a serious concern? Also, the airbag seatbelt expired. Would this affect the airworthiness? thank you, yariv
  3. The latest Mooney paint schemes don't really do it for me so I was pleased to see this 2019 Acclaim with a custom paint job. The colors work very well and color matched seat inserts to boot.. They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder but this really stands out. https://www.controller.com/listings/aircraft/for-sale/165397203/2019-mooney-acclaim-ultra Since this one is for sale, I'm guessing the flaming will begin shortly.
  4. Hello Mooney Fanatics I’m trying to find some feedback on the Tempest Fine Wires URHB32S. I have a champion massives currently and the aircraft stumbles LOP and doesn’t care to idle well until the tach reads 1200-1300. Few questions: Did it save fuel? Was the mag drop spread more narrow? Did it idle smoother? Was it worth the money?
  5. Low time, beautiful Mooney Acclaim. Only 655 hours, always hangared, TKS Flight into Known Icing, GFC700, WAAS equipped, ready for ADS-B upgrade. Gear up in 2011, repairs performed by Mooney and Dugosh, imperceptible even to maintenance shops. I have enjoyed this marvelous all weather IFR aircraft for 5 years, 300 hours, spared no expense and have had all service done by Mooney Service Centers. 6. Not for me! A friend traded in a Porsche Mooney on a new Ovation. He then sold his Mooney and moved overseas for several years. He has been back for a while, and wants to get back into ownership. I've checked the usual places, there are very few Acclaims on the market right now. I will forward any leads to him; he may watch this thread for replies, too. Please let me know of any good ones that are, become or will soon be available. Thanks, ya'll.
  7. Here is another 360 degree video of an approach and landing into Erie, Pa (KERI) today after practicing approaches in Cleveland. The video will not work in the Safari Browser. Try it on your phone for best results, it should open in the youtube app. Then, you can move you phone to look all around or use your finger on the screen to change the view. https://youtu.be/2tz-h2WBiUs Gear down 1:18 Landing 3:55
  8. My Ovation 2, like all (?) long-body Mooney planes, has a pair of 24V batteries in the tail cone. At a MAPA training session, I was told that switching between batteries while the Master Switch was on was a bad idea as "a fuse could blow." The speaker was an experienced Mooney CFI and long-time Mooney owner. At the time I had about 4 hours of Ovation time so I just filed that away for future thought. I don't see any such warning in the POH. I've looked through the schematics and can't figure out where this "prohibition" comes from. There are two "Master" relays in the plane, and the Master Switch wire is routed to the battery selector switch which controls which of the two is connected when the Master Switch is on. The alternators, when on-line, charge the active battery directly. The non-selected battery is charged through a diode D2 so it is "trickle charged" at one diode forward voltage drop below bus voltage. At least that's I how read it. Typical M20M schematic detail attached. Question: Does anyone know of a problem with switching batteries when the Master Switch is on, with or without an alternator on-line? Or is this warning a remnant of some other model aircraft? Battery Detail Schematic M20M crop.pdf
  9. Eric Hagopian 68 Timber Dr. East Longmeadow, MA 01028 413-237-1383 eric.hagopian@gmail.com For sale is my 2008 Mooney ACCLAIM Type S. I purchased it from the original owner and have enjoyed it for the past 2 1/2 years but needed to move to a bigger airplane for family reasons. The airplane is in nearly brand new condition with everything working perfectly. It has the desirable and very expensive WAAS and Synthetic Vision Technology upgrades as well as electronic charts and active traffic. If I could afford to keep it I would but I've taken delivery of my new plane and this one must go. My planes are always hangared, washed and waxed regularly as well as oil changes every about 25 hours. The aircraft is located in Massachusetts at Westover Air Reserve Base KCEF. 10. I fly an acclaim type S, and have what appears to be an incorrect manifold pressure indication. I believe it to be about 5 inches or so off. For example, in order to get the correct fuel burn and knots for a 2400/ 21inch setting, I have to obtain a 2400/ 27 inch setting, at which point the fuel burn and TAS are almost dead on for 24 squared. Anyone else ever have this issue? thanks
