  1. I'd appreciate any troubleshooting ideas....When I push the copilot PTT switch (Two wires), I don't get a side tone, other aircraft / ATC can't hear me (I do not get "carrier no voice"), and there is no voice transmission through the intercom. The T light in each radio lights up and I do hear a click in the headset.Have tried different headsets (all work on pilot side). PTT works. Both radios have same issue and work fine, including intercom, from pilot's side. Have tried intercom without PTT and copilot side doesn't work either. Have replaced PTT switch and confirmed it is working.Equipment consists of 2 KX 155 TSOs, KMA 24 audio panel, Sigtronics SPA 400 TSO, and new wiring.

  3. Folks, I installed a 2nd radio in my old m20a, it's a king ky97a I have no manuals with it, searched internet and bendix king web site , no luck, I am unable to get channel 122.775 I can get only 122.77, I tried to pull the little knob out but cannot get the '5' is this radio too old, also how do I adjust the squelch. thanks for ány' answers. Mike.
  4. So guys, I have to take a little trip next week. Taking our daughter to College for her orientation day. Our K model only has a 2 place intercom thats always enough, until we add a passenger. Its' about 4 hr flight and don't want to leave her all by herself, so to speak. I've attached a pic of a $90 2 place intercom from A/S. Couldn't I leave my headset plugged into my jacks on my side, plug this into my wifes jacks and then hers into the "pilot" jacks and our daughter into the "co-pilot" jacks ? My wife doesn't make radio calls so just need theirs to be internal to the cockpit. Thanks Gents....and yes a full new comm panel is coming soon with all of the other goodies.
  5. Selling my "spare" to finance AvGas costs No issues when removed. $2,100 OBO. $2,000 OBO.
  6. Hey guys, my KX 155 does not seem to be transmitting. Started out as intermittent and now seems like nothing at all. I can still receive com and nav just fine. The "t" lights up when I push to talk but Tower can't hear me. Audio panel is a kma 20. Has anyone been through this? Any suggestions other than checking the RCA connectors?
  7. Do you have HF in your Mooney? Have you thought about installing HF in your Mooney? What type of HF antenna do you have on your Mooney? What HF radio and ATU are you using in your Mooney? Was HF already in the plane when you got it, or did you have it installed? Aeronautical High Frequency (HF) radio has been the mainstay of long distance Air Traffic Control for over 80 years, especially in areas of the world where coverage with line-of-sight VHF radio is not reliable or possible. Although aircraft satellite ATC communications are now commonplace, HF is still very active for Major World Air Route Areas (MWARA) as well as Regional and Domestic Air Route Areas (RDARA). HF is widely utilized for bush flights and NGOs to communicate with ground mobiles, remote outposts, camps, or portable units. Some pilots who are ham radio operators may also enjoy talking on HF radio with amateur radio enthusiasts. So, there are many reasons for Mooney pilots to want HF capability in their plane.
  8. Good Evening Mooneyspace folks, Discrepancy: Noticed radio static during run-up, after annual completion. Background: "high low volts" problem discovered during night landing 4/10/2013 (discovered 24V landing light installed in 14V system, R & R with PMA LED Landing Light. Replaced voltage regulator, Oil Pressure system and Fuel Pressure system amplifiers, CHT and probe R & R’d….returned to service 5-11-2013 (cost $3500) "high low volts" problem 1/13/2014 (see Annunciator Troubleshooting) Radio Static Repair: After researching Mooneyspace, several forum posts recommended checking master switch first for corrosion. While inspecting for corrosion all “male terminals” on back of switch were clean. However one “female” terminal appeared burnt at locations where previous maintenance had crimped vinyl heat shrink. The wire run appears to go to voltage regulator Notes from attached photos: 1) Burn marks common to crimped locations 2) Discoloration of 0.25” female terminal connection 3) No discoloration of 18 AWG wiring. (0.1 milliohms) 1-27-14, I will install new pre soldered AWG 18 terminal end and heat shrink to R & R wire terminal end. Question: Has anyone else seen burnt wiring and do you know what the root cause was? Thank You Steve
  9. Upgraded my 1963 M20C and have Avionics and a left instrument panel. Side interior plastics and window plastics from a 1965+ model that I found won't fit into my plane. I also have a 4 cyl CHT/EGT system that is dual gauges with separate switches that designate the cylinders. I have a couple of pictures now but can get more when requested. KT 76A XPDR KX 175B NAV/COM KR 85 ADF KI 225 ADF IND I have a complete set of Landing gear legs with doors. I am also looking for interior panels and plastics for my restoration of the 1963. Any help on finding things would be appreciated and I might have something that your looking for. Information flow never works good in a vacuum, so I am reaching out.
