  1. My stay there was interesting as well...
  2. Reading between the lines, the counselor stated that this group had problems keeping up with their plans. Having worked for a couple of startups early in my career, this sounds more like growing pains (read the part about "This group" in the paragraph starting with "However") and the employees retaliated. The pressure of growing a business, especially if their is seed money involved, can be hard on everyone in the company.
  3. Must be a conspiracy. I had the same issue over the weekend. I fixed mine by reseting the breaker. As Brian (orionflt) pointed out, it is giving you the trim indication, just not complying with it.
  4. I should have been more clear, only 1 NDB approach in my flying area that I have seen and the locater on the ILS at KILG. I just realized it is the same NDB serving both.
  5. I would be surprised if they didn't. I think there is 1 NDB left in my area and one compass locator that is co-located with an ILS OM. I can't remember the last time I flew one.
  6. Better get up and get your flying fix in before the baby is born. They have a way of sucking your energy dry. [emoji5]
  7. And since Tommy is Australian, a pint in the cooler for when he gets back to the airport. I wonder how different the regs are in Australia.
  8. Hang in there! You will get it resolved and it will become a distant memory.
  9. I don't missed those days at KILG, especially those early morning flights when I got stacked up behind the corporates. Do they still launch IFR flights off of 32 in bad weather? I can remember a flew IFR departures in the rain where I felt like Jimmy Stewart when he played Lucky Lindy in the Spirit of St. Louis movie. The scene where he is taking off in the rain and water is spraying up from puddles as he hits them. I hated that runway in bad weather!
  10. What a timely thread. Just finished up another IPC this afternoon. The winds were really calm but occasionally favored landing east. So... I'm up at this uncontrolled airport, there is a guy coming in on the ILS for the west runway to land and I am flying the LNAV for the same runway towards the east. The two of us on the approaches are talking because my missed is a route to his FAF. We are sharing altitudes reports, when a Cherokee gets on the west runway and announces his intention to depart with me on a mile final. He sees me coming in and decides to announce he will wait for me to begin the miss. The guy on the ILS is 2 miles out and I am sure wondering if the Cherokee will get off before his arrival. I do the missed approach early and moved to the right of the missed approach route. It all worked out but this is the kind off stuff you see on nice days. BTW -- regarding whether or not being on an IFR plan means anything. I don't believe so. I had no clue if this guy flying an approach was IFR or not. I also think it is important to call out distances. There are a lot of VFR only guys out there who have no clue where a fix is.
  11. Mine has pop rivets as well. If the first baffle lasted 41 years, I would think pop rivets could give staples a run for their money.
  12. Mike - I applaud your efforts to standardized these events. I wish all Mooney events were organized under one banner. It would be much easier to identify opportunities to learn more about our planes, techniques to make us better pilots and to meet others who share our passion. The Mooney family although passionate, is not organized when it comes to the betterment of the Mooney pilot community.
  13. Just like I ignored mine. [emoji5]
  14. Bob - here is what my F looked like before and after. Take your time and plan it out.
  15. And when you are done with all that, come to Delaware and do my interior!
  16. Flightwatch was the mainstay for years to get updated in flight route weather updates. With the ADS-B in capability some of that service is redundant but others are not. It is also nice to talk to someone who can confirm the weather is not behaving as forecast and offer suggestions.
  17. I have used fltpln go and it is pretty good. Just don't like the interface. On the trip I took this morning, Garmin Pilot did a good job of showing the route histories and will send back an ATC proposed route.
  18. We have some TEK routes around this part of the country that are starting to get some popularity. Not surprisingly, you get a "you want to fly what?,". Another thing to keep an eye on is the agreements that approach controlling facilities have with each other. Dover and Philly approach have an agreement to keep us flibs at specific altitudes and routing if our destination is in their sectors. File what you, get what they give...
  19. I haven't missed my DME since I pulled it. And for the money you can get for it I thought it was a good trade off.
  20. He has a Sigtronics 2 place intercom. Back seat passengers are probably not wired in. No music, no telephone, no last message recording, no dual com (pilot & co on separate frequencies) to name a few. I had a 20 and Sig, they had minimum capabilities.
  21. Bob - noticed a couple of other things. I would remove the LORAN and DME as well. The DME can be sold. There is still a market for them. The LORAN is a boat anchor. Free up the additional weight and panel space and you may be able to slide a 695 or 795 in a mount on the right. You also have a second DG, I would considering removing it and putting your engine analyzer in that spot.
  22. Ok Bob. Looks like a 1977 J. I agree with TJ, get rid of the ADF. I would look to get rid of the KMA 20 audio panel and replace it with a PS Engineering 450 (I think that is the model). Sell one of your KX-155 for some extra money. If you go 750 and put in the audio panel, you're done for budget. A 650 with a GDL-88 and the FlightStream 210, no audio panel upgrade will get you around $20k. The more you can afford now, the cheaper the installation. If you were able to fund $30k, you would have more options.
  23. Show us a picture of your panel. We'll help you spend your money
  24. I've been playing around with the OBS feature to see if I can run a straight line back to the waypoint. Will be out tomorrow playing around with it again.
