  1. Mooney just moved up on the certification process for the AP.
  2. Also, the user name was Semip76296.
  3. It was brought to my attention that someone reached out to a potential buyer, on my behalf, vouching for me and telling this person to contact me at (385) 269-9383 to complete the purchase. That is not my phone number and I don’t t have anyone communicating on my behalf. Please be careful and do your due diligence before sending money to anyone on this forum. I recommend pinning this message for now.
  4. They’re yours. I can take Venmo, PayPal or you can mail me a check.
  5. Asking $250 OBO + Shipping for the whole system.
  6. Asking $30 + shipping, as is. The front face panel is loose.
  7. Selling as is with yellow tag. The clear plastic is loose. Asking $50 OBO + Shipping.
  8. Asking $50 + Shipping
  9. $75 + Shipping.
  10. Asking $100 + Shipping.
  11. Asking $200 OBO + Shipping. I upgraded to an all glass panel and no long need this.
  12. I too had my glareshield sent to Aero Comfort in 2015 and it cost $395 + shipping to have it wrapped in leather back then. The leather still looks great to this day and I’m very happy with it. I highly recommend them.
  13. I previously had the GI-106 before my Dynon upgrade and had no issues with the IFDs not working with the 106.
  14. Like Eric said, the IFD is way ahead of the GNS and is some ways, IMHO, even better than the GTN products. I have time behind my IFD 440s and a GTN 650 at work. I definitely prefer the IFD over the GTN. The IFDs are newer, have Wifi and BT built in, they have knobs and buttons to do everything so you’re not relying on touchscreens. One minor detail I like is that Avidyne actually spells out the name of the controlling facility for a particular frequency such as “Portland Tower” while the GTN says “PHX TWR.” Minor detail but I like that. Funny thing, the GTNs didn’t originally even have that feature and only implemented that after Avidyne already had it in their IFD product line.
  15. I’m not a big fan of touchscreen either but the Avidyne IFDs function using both touchscreen and knobs/buttons. I’d say I use the knobs and buttons for just about everything except for inputting waypoints and flight plans. I see you’re based in Livermore. If you ever come down to SoCal I’d be happy to take you up in my plane to play with the IFDs. I have dual 440s in my plane and I’m very happy with them. Do yourself a favor, don’t listen to the guys who trash one product over the other and don’t listen to a guy who flew behind an IFD once and have him tell you Garmin is better. See for yourself, then make an informed decision.
  16. It’s always nice when the shop interacts and engages with the customer.
  17. I have some experience with it not working so well. I have images and videos on my phone of the screen on a G500H going red (twice) that had to be sent back to Garmin for repair, the magnetometer failing, and probably a couple other issues that escape me at the moment. It’s good stuff but not perfect. Every product will have issues at some point. Don’t let anyone tell you different.
  18. I think you’re really going to like the Dynon Skyview HDX system. I’ve had mine about a year and a half and I love it. It makes flying safer and IFR is MUCH easier. There’s so much situational awareness for the pilot that it makes flying just a lot more fun. It’s very intuitive and easy to use. One of the downsides of the system is that I lost most functionality of my S-TEC 30 so I really don’t even bother with using the AP anymore. I just hand fly it everywhere now but with the highway in the sky, I can fly a near perfectly straight ground track that looks as good as an AP had flown it. I can’t do that with an HSI. Maybe others can but with me you’ll still see a little wiggle on my flight path on Flightradar24 that tells you it was human flown. Only negatives I can say about the HDX are that ADS-B traffic sometimes disappears on the moving map and PFD then will all reappear. I’m not sure what might be causing that. The only other negative is waiting for STC approval of the Dynon AP. But I love hand flying it too much to let that bother me right now. The Dynon paired with the Avidyne IFDs work very well together. I can usually be airborne in 7 to 8 minutes with an IFR clearance with the IFDs. They make it super easy to program flight plans into the FMS. It quickly predicts where you want to go next so, the next fix, VOR or airway just populates on the menu. It’s very easy to learn.
  19. I absolutely love my J and I knew it was going to be my first and last airplane I bought. You can’t beat the efficiency in a certificated airplane.
  20. I was wondering the same thing. No back up attitude indicator or altimeter? Also, thanks for sharing your story. We’re all human and we all make mistakes, the idea is to learn from it and hopefully never to repeat it. I’m sure you will be much more conscious of pitot heat in the soup in the future.
  21. I expected more hardware than that. There isn’t any “aluminum box” that goes in the wing? It just uses the existing wing structure?
  22. Does any know how much the kit weighs? I really want his but don’t want to lose too much useful load.
  23. These are pretty tough to sell in today’s market. Most people seem to be doing exactly what you’re doing and buying the G5. The KSC55s don’t have much value anymore. Don’t ask me how I know this. Hopefully you can find a buyer but I wouldn’t expect much money.
