A quick question I saw that you once had a problem with your electric trim with an s-tec 55X autopilot and the G1000. I had my electric trim fail today so when I got back on the ground I pulled the trim switch out from behind the panel and checked it with an ohm meter and the switch appeared to work fine but after reading your thread it sounds like there maybe a fuse in the autopilot that blow. If the fuse blows in the autopilot will I no longer have electric trim using the trim switch on the control wheel? If that is the case is it a fuse I can change myself?

Sounds like you found the problem, hopefully it will stay working, I had mine blow about 3-5 times, I put in an inline fuse. Ultimately I ended up with new servos which solved the issue.

Bud I'm not sure if you can change it or not, I had a few problems, the board in the computer failed a couple times, the trim in the computer also failed a couple time the avionics man sent it in for repair. Ifbit happens again I'd put in another fuse between the trim and computer, that would fail first and you could replace the inline fuse, I did that until it got fixed for good. I ended up changing all the servos, we pretty certain I had a batch of bad servos in my plane.

  4. Dan, do you really do taxes?  I have always done my own taxes, but this past year my working wife passed away, I cashed in some 401k's, and many other complications. MTI won't be straight forward by any stretch of the imagination.  Still game?  Can you do it on time?

  7.  I understand that you have the GTX345R with WAAS installed in a non-waas G1000 plane.  I also understand it is working as expected..... traffic displayed on the MFD with weather/traffic displayed on a portable device via Bluetooth.  May I ask where you had this performed and a proximately the cost and time required if you were comfortable providing this information.  There are several installers I have spoken with who do not believe this is possible due to software incompatibility issues.  I really did not want to do the full G 1000 upgrade.

     Thanks, Lee

      Hey Lee,

I do have the GTX345R it is working great, I just came up from Florida today and the traffic was extremely nice. Don Maxwell set me up with David in Tyler Texas to do the 345, I was very unhappy with his work, when I got back to Delaware it had to be reprogrammed since the GPSS, stormscope, xm weather and a couple other things did no work. That  being said I have the older software along with synthetic vision etc and it is compatible.I paid around $6800 for the 345 and install. It would have been another 500-1000 for the avionics guy to program it properly since he is a client and friend he did not charge me. They are opening a new avionics shop at KILG,Fly advanced and my guy Mark will be the general manager, hyphen had been at Beechcraft as the top guy in De, they closed down and he didn't want to relocate again. If your interested I can hook you up with him after the shop is up and running. My email is danbbcpa@comcast.net if you have any more questions or anything else.

      Have a great time flying
